Spraying was the original focus for PWL and with over a million hours sprayed, we believe nobody can beat us on skill and experience in this area.

Philip’s first employee Paul Connell is the spraying manager / operator and he has a vast amount of knowledge and experience – as you would expect from 48 years in the business!

Our late model spray trucks are equipped with auto steer, the latest GPS and spray controller technology and are 4WD; they have 24 metre booms to quickly and efficiently spray your crop or pasture. We also have a self propelled agrifac sprayer.
Our drivers are certified approved chemical handlers and, if required we can provide the chemical for your spray job at a competitive rate.

We have five blower trucks for grains and stock feeds which are equipped with an on-board blower system for blowing the feed through a tube which is attached to the silo. This saves the farmer having to provide an auger as we can easily unload ourselves.

We have a large modern fleet of truck and trailer units to cart bulk commodities such as grain, fertiliser and stock feed all over the South Island.

We specialise in carting grain from farmers’ properties using our own loading equipment to any destination. With our experience in bulk cartage, we have forged excellent rapports with end users to ensure that your grain is dealt with as a priority.

We specialise in container cartage, both hand stacked and palletised. Our truck configurations allow us to cart 10, 20 and 40ft containers including hi cubes up to a weight of 32.5 tonnes gross.

We can load bulk product into containers using our own loading equipment and we can swing your container if required.

Our team of operators will ensure your hand stacked products are packed with care and to maximum capacity.

No item is too big or too small for our 3 dedicated freight trucks including Dangerous Goods and Refrigerated items.

One of our refrigerated trucks works under a dedicated time schedule to ensure prompt delivery of perishable goods for the many local cafes and restaurants who rely on us to deliver fresh produce on time. Our curtainsider unit is also ideal for shifting all pallets of seeds, bales of wool, bagged fertiliser and other weather sensitive products.

Our modern fertiliser fleet of ten spreader trucks are all Spreadmark certified and GPS equipped with mapping ability and variable rate control.

We have the capability to spread either lime or fertiliser and we can also spread road grit during the winter months. We specialise in mini sowers for precision spreading on crop and our operators have many years combined experience in this field.

We have 9 x 4WD trucks and one 6×4 spreader for worked ground and pasture spreading, 5 of these trucks are equipped with automat trailers to ensure your product is delivered and spread at optimal efficiency.
We also have specialist spreaders equipped with wide flotation tyres and central tyre inflation for increased grip and reduced ground compaction.

We have an extensive range of flat deck units including semi trailers, truck and trailers and 2 curtainsider units, for carting any products you may need to move.

We are specialists for loading and carting straw and baleage with a modern fleet of trucks and loaders operated by our experienced drivers.
Our curtainsider units are ideal for shifting all pallets of seeds, bales of wool, bagged fertiliser and all other weather sensitive products direct to market.

We have the capability to cart field bins from your paddock to coolstore and / or direct to market.
Timber and steel of most lengths can be accommodated with our various vehicle configurations.

Machinery, such as tractors and other agricultural equipment can also be delivered by us to your rural destination.

We have a fleet of 26 logging trucks, and are well known for our experience and professionalism in this specialised industry.
We are a member of the Log Safety Transport Council and we have five self-loading units including two bin wood trucks, some of which cart South Island wide.

Our self-loading units can be used for firewood and any job where a loader isn’t available.

Truck and trailer multi bolster combinations allow us to cart any length of logs and posts required and we also have the ability to buy and transport firewood logs to your property.

We operate 6 late model stock units with MPI approved crates. The configurations include 2 deck cattle and deer and 4 deck sheep cartage to maximise load potential while keeping your costs to a minimum.

Our drivers are highly experienced and handle all stock competently ensuring best condition and reduced stress. The operators are Processing Plants accredited and our dispatcher is an accredited trainer with the New Zealand Livestock Transport Safety Association.

Our trucks cart livestock New Zealand wide and are a regular feature at the many livestock sales in the area.

We operate three purpose built coolstores at our Methven and Ashburton depots with the capacity to store over 10000 field bins.
These are temperature controlled and monitored to maintain your product at optimum condition.
We have the capability to tip your bins into bulk units on site if required and we can store up to 7000 tonnes of grain all year round.
